"His hips tend to feel really tight for rest of the day after high repetition of kicks and the posture he adopts during practice. I decided on a gentle partner-assisted hip stretch to begin with. As a partner, I'm drawing back on Jay's right hip while pressing the left hip forward to square his hips. Jay deepens the stretch further by hooking the heel of front foot backwards. For new or really tight students, I personally prefer to stretch them in a gentler manner so they will not be overwhelmed by stretch sensation." - Jasmine
